Purchasing an ATV from the market might look easy to the ones who can afford to buy one, but even if you can’t buy an ATV, you can build an ATV of your own at home. But before this, you will need to have three very important things i.e. ATV plans which contains detailed directions over the parts required to build an ATV and the procedure to assemble them, various ATV parts and assembly tools. Now let’s start building an ATV in five simple steps:

Step 1

The first but the foremost important thing for you is to decide what type and style of ATV you intend building? The decision to go for a simple or a more complexed one mainly depends upon your finances. Simpler style ATVs like go kart type, without suspension, will cost you less may be around 500-600USD, however, the price rises, around 1500-2000USD, as the ATV gets more sophisticated with rear or full suspensions and complicated frame styles.

Step 2

After having decided the type and style of the ATV, now, you need to have an ATV plan containing detail step by step instructions to build an ATV. ATV plans for various sorts of ATVs are also available over internet for quick reference. These instructions will also let you know what sort of materials you must look for. It’s imperative that you read these directions very carefully as after purchasing the required parts there is no turning back.

Step 3

It's now time that you go out shopping to an automotive store or even try an online shopping for buying the essential parts to build an ATVlisted in your ATV plans. An orthodox ATV plan will require you to buy items like used tires, bucket seats, axles, metal frame, shocks, brakes, suspensions, drive components and last but not the least a four stoke engine.

Step 4

Now that you have everything you require to build an ATV, it’s time for you to follow the instructions given in the ATV plans very carefully because you don’t want anybody to get hurt driving your ATV. Any overlooking or a compromise over a single feature of an ATV plan may cause injury to someone. Once done, give your ATV a bright color for more attractive look.

Step 5

You are now ready to go for a test ride over any sort of terrain because; after all it’s an ATV. However, don’t forget to wear your crash helmet and other safety equipment.
